CDRG Brings New Wave of Talent to it’s Team

CDRG is adding new talent to their roster, with the recent hire of a Eastern Canada Business Development Rep, Financial Consultant and Business Coach & Mentor.  Newly appointed Marie-Eve Bélisle as Business development Rep will be primarily focused on ensuring our Québec & Eastern members can remain competitive and compliant with our current client base. Moreover She will be tasked at nurturing existing relationships as well as developing new opportunities.

In addition to Marie-Ève, CDRG has also secured the services of a Financial consultant, Mrs. Karen Meades CA. With an impressive track record as CFO of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and other leading national associations, Mrs. Meades is well qualified to lead and consult on CDRG’s financial requirements and objectives.

Last but certainly not least, we are honored to have Mr. Richard L’Abbé, co-Founder and former CEO of Med Eng. Inc., now owned by Allen Vanguard, Global leader in providing solutions for defeating terrorists & extremists threats. Mr. L’Abbé has generously offered his time & business experience to mentor CDRG in the business planning and restructuring process. We strongly believe that a fresh pair of eyes & outside perspective will be most valuable to strategic plan.

Marie-Eve Bélisle – CDRG Eastern Canada Marketing & Business Development Rep

Marie-Eve's abilities to communicate effectively with clients started when she was 15, the
day she began working for her family’s company. Hailing from the automotive industry, Marie-
Eve possesses a lot of customer service experience in all aspects of business. Clients have
always found her to possess exceptional customer service skills as well attention to detail.
Following her 3 year business degree in Barrie, she has gained valuable work experience in
different aspects of the automotive industry such as; finances, marketing, customer service,
and insurance. She received her home staging certificate through the QC Design School. She also took her General Contractor course in June of 2010. Her innate interpersonal skills and
bilingualism will prove to be an asset to both clients and members of CDRG. In her new role of Business Development, she is eager to communicate with and build strong relationships.

Karen Meades CA - Financial Consultant

Having served in leadership roles for the past 20 years, with continued success in meeting business goals Karen brings  a combination of: team leadership; strategic planning; skillful expression, transmission and interpretation of knowledge and ideas; and, business operations skills that I have leveraged to meet and exceed expectations. She offers analysis of core operational/business functions to the leadership team. Once consensus is achieved we implement the most appropriate solutions that support the overall mission, strategic direction and objectives of the company.

Richard L’Abbé P.eng - Business coach & Mentor

Richard L’Abbé graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 1979. Two years later, he co-founded Med-Eng Systems, which became a world recognized leader in the design and production of suits, helmets and electronic products to protect first responders against explosive devices. Mr. L’Abbé began as Production manager, and evolved to the position of President and CEO, and has traveled to over 90 Countries. Med-Eng sales grew from $64MM in 2005 to $261MM in 2006, and in 2007 the company was sold to Allen-Vanguard for $650MM.

                                           

Under his leadership, Med-Eng Systems had won numerous awards including Canada’s Top 50 Best Managed Private Company Platinum status, and the Canada Export Award lifetime achievement award. Mr. L’Abbé was the first civilian to be awarded the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators Distinguished Service Award, and he received the Medal of Distinction from the Hungarian Building Society.

                                           

In 2004, Mr. L’Abbé was named the Ottawa Business Journal’s CEO of the year. In May 2008, he was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Canada’s Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. He is now a partner in the Calabogie Motorsport Park race circuit.
