The Canadian Disaster Restoration Group’s (CDRG) new Red Team, developed over the past year, promises to have a big impact on the restoration industry in Canada, according to the Ottawa-based operation’s founder, Simon Frigon. It’s designed to react quickly and efficiently to catastrophes anywhere in the country.
“The Red Team is ready to travel to help resolve and restore property damage across Canada on behalf of our many clients,” says Frigon. “With the help of our members, we came up with a database that identified, among other things, all our members’ equipment, people they were able to send out and how far they’d be able to travel in case of emergencies.” Frigon says it took about six months to gather all the information for the database. Members have the ability to call into the national database directly to locate and activate the services they require.
“We actually have three Red Team divisions, basically ready to go, almost immediately, to help handle catastrophic events – one for the West, one for Central Canada and one for the East.” Frigon says CDRG’s overall concept, first introduced five years ago, was of a network of member organizations. It has developed into a powerful entity with the power to instigate change.
“CDRG is the intersection of restoration contractors and restoration specialists – where disaster restoration meets solid business strategy. We marry the best of strategy and creativity with an army of restoration experts in the fields of property loss.” He says the organization is based on a simple premise: to develop unique or superior claims handling systems that offer better value, quality service and workmanship for the policyholder. “Today, the CDRG brand is recognized by our clients as Canada's first fully independent and truly national restoration group.” The firm, Frigon says, is a sound alternative to traditional restoration contractors.
“In 2009 our lineup of specialized services, chosen carefully based on our formula for quality, continues to grow and we are certain that both the policyholder and the client will benefit greatly.” He says whatever the innovations, CDRG’s goal, as always, is to provide clients with the best in restoration services. “Stay tuned, because we think the future looks even more exciting than the first five years. CDRG is truly changing the industry and taking it by storm.”
